Day 149

Saturday was HOT.

Really hot.

Didn't do much.
Don't remember going out at all.
Doesn't mean I didn't, but I don't think I did?
Left my phone at Jess's & so went half the day without it which was - sadly - a bit hard!
Hmmm. I think I'll need a new one soon. Mine's starting to do weird things.

HEATWAVE PROS
- it's not cold! i hate cold.
- you can eat icy poles for every meal
- you can sit inside and still tan
- you can sleep anywhere coz you don't need a sheet or anything over you
- stoves are made redundant - just crack your egg on your driveway and watch it sizzle.

HEATWAVE CONS
- You can't do much coz going outside hurts.
- Cars break down
- Fires start
- Sweat, in general

Oh & Bre told me I can move in now coz Trav has moved out.. so looks like all that'll start next week. EEEE!

Day 148

Paint swatches Pictures, Images and Photos

Forgot to write yesterday that I went paint shopping with Mum this week, to find something nice to colour over the orange feature wall in my new room...
Went to Bunnings and ended up saving $36 by finding a 4L mistinted can of paint that was pretty much the perfect colour. Thanks God! So got 2L of undercoat & 4L of colour for like, $47. Woop!

Went shopping with mum this morning too, bought The Grates' new album with a JB voucher I got for Chrissy. Yay!
Also picked up a George Foreman Grill for my new house! Mmmm. Grill.

Hung out with Charm at FG & bought printer ink.

Went to Jess's to get ready for SARAH CHINA'S 21st!!!
Exciting stuff.

- We had daiquiris that Jess had made - tasted like liquid jam mixed with vodka! Interesting. Nice & cold in the stupidly hot weather though.
- Charm got her hair cut by Mel.
Who also did Jess's hair in this sweet as, teased side ponytail.. I can't explain it, but it was hot!
- Went to Charm's and waited for Dean to show up.
- Met up with some guys from J + C's high school at the station.. Oscar & James. They were quite lovely.
- All the trains got cancelled coz of the heatwave we've had this week - 4 consecutive days over 40 degrees!
- We ended up catching a maxi to the city which wasn't awfully expensive.. Just kind of annoying coz im pretty broke still.
- Maccas & everything was closed coz of power shortages (again, thanks to the heatwave) so we went straight to Sarah's, which was awesome fun.
- Saw ASH!!! who I haven't spoken to for nearly 6 months.. i missed our poser times! I must have a couple of hundred photos of just me and ash from high school.
- Venue was Blvd Bar in Southbank, and it was nice if not a little hot in areas. & the girl behind the bar was a bit dumb. Mean but true.
- We left at one point to get Jess some food but Crown had been evacuated.. so as well as people being everywhere celebrating Chinese New Year, the entire population of Crown was on Southbank.. we ended up at 7/11 and bought pies.. haha.

Overall a sweet-as night, lots of dancing, champagne, holding hands in crowds (Jess was my date :P ) sleepy nightrider trips & hot hot HOT heat.

Day 145/147

okay, i suck.

i should update my blog more regularly.
this week, stuff happened.
i've forgotten most of it.

here are the parts i remember.

1. i had a job network interview thing for centrelink junk. it was the biggest waste of time.
2. i had dinner with Joel which was awesome fun.
3. i went shopping at Highpoint with Sam which was also awesome fun. The Camry is a partymobile.

Day 143

Church was nice. Good. What? Bit tired.

I shared a story during the service, something that i can't believe I forgot to write about yesterday... so here goes.

Came home from Shelley's to find an envelope in the mail for me.
In it was a money order for $500.
It was anonymous.. no name or anything.
(if by some chance that person reads this - thank you, so much. may you be richly rewarded for the way you've blessed me.)

I was in shock for like.. an hour.
It's enough to pay my board & rent for a month & buy paint & food & live! for at least 2 more weeks.

I had been having so many doubts about whether moving out was the right thing to do seeing as I couldn't afford it but this has answered those prayers.. i'm sure now that I should be doing it. Forgive me Lord for my lack of faith!

God has provided for me & i'm on top of the world.

Movie = Wild Child

Day 142

GET YOUR POM POMS OUT FOR:

Shelley - her dropping me at Springvale instead of Syndal saved me 80min in travel time.
Hot weather - walking home from the station was enjoyable if not exhausting.
Jo - No matter how little we see each other at the moment, we still have the best time hanging out.
Traffic - means we get to have singalongs while we wait
Parties - always a fun time
Friends - as above
Getting engaged - a great thing and a good excuse for a party
Flat shoes - they're still dressy!!!
Katho - she's just rad
Taxis - never a dull ride
Gospel music - best stuff on earth
Dancing - how can you not?
Grace & Rosie - so hot right now
Sleep - needs no explanation.

Day 141

So my folks are off to Rockhampton for the weekend, because my cousin David is getting married.

I'm going to hang out with my cousin & beach mission folk today & then hit up an engagement party and a gospel gig tomorrow night.

Should be good!

FRIDAY BLUES.

I really really really really really really really really miss my car.

Got up too late and therefore missed my train, had to work out how to get to Knox before nightfall, ended up on the bus. I hate buses.

Not long to go now. Well.. not as long as there was at the start at least.

Brilliant, aren't I?

If one more person asks me what i've learnt from this experience, i'll slap them in the face.

FRIDAY QUOTES

"Have you seen Mrs Mumble?"

"Let's crash my car and see if the airbags go off"

"I'm from the government and i'm here to inspect your chicken nuggets!!"

"It's not fondue if you melt it in the microwave"

"Goat on a pole"

Day 140

The fun parts of today were hanging out with Bre & Trav & Katie at the house, and hanging out with Mike as he showed me around what will soon be my local area.

Otherwise, today pretty much sucked.

I'm feeling discouraged, tired, pressured and BROKE.

THE WRESTLER.

wrestler Pictures, Images and Photos

oh. my. gosh.
this movie was just amazing.
i'm racing ahead though.
haha @ tess getting on the wrong bus!? HOW!?
YAY for Nando's chips.
damn hoyts and their expensiveness.

but THE MOVIE!!!!!!

only thing i didn't like was the camera work while Mickey was walking around.. it made my head hurt.

otherwise, i loved it.
i seriously can't even begin to explain, it was just awesome.
Evan Rachel Wood didn't even annoy me.
Marisa Tomei was outstanding, i've never seen her play such a brash character.
And MICKEY.. wow.

The final scene had Tess and I grabbing at each others hands.
The last shot and all through the credits, we just sat there with our mouths gaping..
it was that good :)

It was harsh and sad and violent and funny and painful and raw and great.

Yep.

 2.
Apparently Mickey & Ms Wood are hooking up in real life now. Ew.
The scene where they dance in the empty building wasn't in the script.

Day 138

Negative/Positive

Got home bit too late from the movie.
But it was a good movie & hanging with Charm was fun.

Slept in.
MMM. Sleep.

Nearly missed my train.
But didn't.

SO damn HOT.
It's finally feeling like summer!

Walked a fair bit coz the place was between two trams stops.
But it was a nice walk.

Found out I had gone to the one tram stop out of the two that was actually a lot further away than the other.
at least I knew where I was going.

Read an awful book by Margaret Atwood on train.
it passed the time, and now i can say i've read it.

Sounded like an overenthusiastic nut in my interview.
overall it went well and she was really positive in her feedback..

Okay, that was getting to be a pain.
Got another call back on the way home, but decided not to go to the interview that got scheduled.. the job was purely commission based and would require a fair bit of travelling... i want a job, but i need one that will pay a regular wage.

The chick at my interview said that if i was successful she'd call by the end of the day.

I was pretty excited coz i thought it went pretty well in the interview.

So you know how you start getting all plan-y and stuff?

I started thinking about how i could fit in a part time job with the hours i would have, how it was close to this and that, blah blah blah.

But she didn't call.

I am clearly a failure at interviews.

Man, I stared at my phone for like, an hour.

LAAAAAAME.

Day 137

INTERNET JOB HUNTING FACTS.

- it hurts your head
- it's bad for your self esteem
really really bad.
- it makes you realise writing about yourself is more than annoying. esp after the 15th application
- it makes you think seriously about your long/short term future plans.
Not great if you've been diligently avoiding that particular thought train.
- there are some really really stupid companies out there who write terrible ads.
- recruitment ads are from the devil. FALSE HOPE is their weapon.
- it can eat up your entire day while not producing anything tangible = you feel like you've wasted a day
and sometimes you have!
- it gives you bed hair and rumpled clothes
- it makes you question your skills and abilities
oh, this is perfect! wait.. i don't have.. oh.. and i don't... oh. awww.
- it makes you forget that you really do want a job because it's just so monotonous and discouraging and awful.

Slumdog Millionaire Pictures, Images and Photos

On the plus, Slumdog Millionaire was a pretty good movie.
i was kind of expecting to be blown away with all the fuss being made.
But i guess it's famous for being a B-Grade that made it big, so....
M.I.A was on the soundtrack :)
The director partly ruined the whole thing with a cheesy final line
& a Bollywood dance before the credits... GAH!

But overall, an 8/10

late news - i got a call back from one of the jobs i applied for, and i have an interview tomorrow morning. eep.

Day 136

Oh man.

I met up with someone I didn't really want to see last night.

Emotional turmoil ensued.

I then distracted myself from the situation by visiting the bar.

Over and over.

Never again.

I.

Am.

So.

Freaking.

Embarrassed.

But on a positive note, PPS were amaaazing once again.
Furthermore, Katey and Jesse have made my list of fun people to hang out with!!! Cheers guys.

Thanks & sorry to my little brother, Mark, Adam, Pete, Joel & anyone else who helped me out/let me talk last night.

OH AND

a massively massive thank you to Mark, Baz, Jo & Donna who are just the coolest people ever - i love sharing a stage with you guys more than I can say! You inspire me. Our jump off the wall was clearly SPECTACULAR! We rule. Seriously... :D

Saturday = Picture Perfect Skys day..

Photobucket

It was amazing weather & the boys played sooo well at their AM gig.

They have a sweet as vibe going on.. the new drummer Ant has fit in really well - they all have the same sort of vision for the music, they're really focused on delivering a good show.. i'm so proud of all of them.. I hope they can keep it together for the next year or so, because with army still going for Marty, uni and whatnot starting for Phil & work for A, it will make or break them.

It's always interesting going to underage events.. I remember being like some of the kids i see there. But I get really possessive when I see chicks with my haircut or wearing a Wishful Thinking tshirt - some of them are just so obviously SCENE! && I'm like, i have my hair like this coz it's me and i've had it like this forever.... but when i'm around these kids i look like i'm just trying to be like them... like part of the crowd. It's weird. & Wishful were so clearly before their time it's insane.

Man i sound old.

& grumpy.

They're playing at BANG tonight as well.

Should be funnnnn.

I'm going in with one of Adam's friends, Mark. He seems super nice so should be a good trip!

I'm sorry my blog has turned into a diary.

I'll try and make it more interesting again.

Assuming anyone found it interesting to start with haha..

Just a fair bit going on right now!

(excusesssssssssss)

actually, it's kind of a lie..

i wish i was more interesting, but i'm finding it nice to look back on and remember what I'm doing with my days.

Electronic journal this most definitely is.

Stay tuned.

Stuff you should be able to get/do for being in a band.
Just like, automatically.

- free entry to places
- free beer
- fans to stalk you
- a shirt with your picture on it
- product sponsorship deals
- something named after you.. a tree or a rock would do.

Also,

EW.
I wasn't surprised to hear that this came out of Brazil.

That is all.
